30 Minute Honey Soy Chicken Bowl
Honey soy chicken + edamame + carrots + rice = a delicious, easy dinner done in 30 minutes! Let’s do this.
Sometimes “bowl” recipes that we see online can be a little complicated. Today I wanted to make it simple and straight forward so that we can have our dinner FAST and extra delicious.
I have serious love for a good chicken recipe. And most of the time, I don’t have enough minutes out of my day to get chicken marinated prior to dinner. So I wanted to share a recipe that you could make happen that was super flavorful, but could happen without the marinating process. And this honey soy chicken is our answer!
This delicious recipe takes a quick 30 minutes to make, contains minimal ingredients, and is wholesome & satisfying!

- 1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs
- cooked rice
- 1 cup edamame
- 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup carrots sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Honey Soy Sauce
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 cup soy sauce low sodium
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 1/2 tsp ginger
Preheat oven to 375. Mix all of sauce ingredients in a large bowl - toss chicken thighs in sauce. In a cast iron skillet, heat olive oil on medium heat. Cook chicken thighs 3 minutes on each side.
Pour rest of sauce over chicken in skillet pan, and cook in oven for 20 minutes or when chicken has cooked through.
Cook edamame as instructed and steam carrots for 1-2 minutes.
Remove chicken from oven and brush chicken with sauce in pan. Place chicken on rice, with edamame, and carrots. Spoon sauce from pan over chicken and rice - sprinkle with sesame seeds and enjoy!
