A delicious strawberry spinach salad with avocado slices and the most perfect homemade strawberry vinaigrette! Make this crowd-pleasing salad for any summer picnic or holiday – so simple and flavorful.
It’a strawberry season and that means putting strawberries in everything from desserts to salads! I love fresh green salads with fruit because they taste just like summer. And this strawberry spinach salad is so fresh tasting which makes it perfect for summer picnics, holidays, or special events.
The Dressing
In this salad I used a homemade strawberry vinaigrette made with just 4 simple ingredients. Oil, red wine vinegar, honey, and strawberries.
It’s slightly sweet, tangy, and full of fresh strawberry flavor. Store this salad in a mason jar or sealed container for up to 7-10 days in refrigerator. If you prefer not to use the homemade strawberry salad, you can also use your favorite balsamic or Italian dressing.
Additions For Strawberry Spinach Salad
This salad can be topped with just about any vegetable, fruit, or nuts. My favorites are:
- Raspberries
- Blueberries
- Pecans
- Apple slices
- Cucumbers
- Walnuts
- Pomegranate seeds
- Arugula/mixed greens
Make This Salad Ahead of Time
If you are making this salad ahead for an event I recommend purchasing pre-bagged spinach to make it easier. Then prep vegetables and store in ziplock bags or sealed containers separately to stay fresh. Store vinaigrette in refrigerator in a mason jar or sealed container. Then prepare salad when needed.
