Simple Mango-Chia Smoothie
I figured it was time to share yet another smoothie, since they are a very special part of my every day breakfast routine. I’ll make them day or night! I can’t get enough. In fact, we just had these for dinner. Weird. But for good reason! Trust me, It’s not in our usual dinner schedule to be all “let’s have blended fruit for dinz.” Clearly.
We actually just celebrated 10 amazing amazing months of marriage and we figured, that deserves an Annapolis trip consisting of (the best) fish tacos at the Boatyard Bar & Grill and Kilwin’s world famous (to us) toasted coconut ice cream for lunch. So, it just was one of those days you’re not hungry till like, 10 O’clock at night and all you want is a smoothie and popcorn. Or maybe that’s just us. But seriously, if you are in the Annapolis area ever those are the places to be! Boatyard also has the best crab cake sandwiches we’ve ever had! I’d say we’re experts by now.
Back to the smoothie! This is something I’ve been having every morning for breakfast and i’m in love. I’m also a big believer in buying Costco fruit so I can stock up on my smoothies and because I just can’t get enough of fruit in general. But one thing I really really love at Costco are the Ataulfo mango’s! I’m obsessed and quickly have to restock the moment we run out. You can also get them at any grocery store! I only say Costco, because they are always lovely and fresh and in bulk (hallelujah). You can also use any kind of mango, I just like Ataulfo because of their consistent sweetness.
And I will also just say, the secret that I have discovered for the best smoothie flavor is the sweetness of the banana (if in the recipe). Make sure you are using a banana that is more on the ripe side and has at least developed some brown dots. Just a little tip if you want even more sweet, natural flavor in dat smoothie. 🙂

Amazing Mango Chia Smoothie with strawberries, creamy banana, and nutrient-filled chia seeds.
- 1/2 cup frozen mangoes, cubed
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- splash of almond milk
- 1 1/2 tsp chia seeds
Add all ingredients to blender, blend medium to high and add almond milk till desired consistency and enjoy!!
