Citrus Herb & Honey Skillet Chicken
Citrus + fresh herbs + sweet honey + Tuscan herbed olive oil.
Today’s recipe is absolutely delicious, easy, beautiful and sponsored by Maggio Olive Oil Co.
The chicken is crispy & slightly sticky on the outside and tender on the inside.
It’s seasoned with fresh herbs, garlic, some herb flavors from the olive oil, citrus & orange and naturally sweetened with raw honey. Absolutely delicious!
I love the flavor and quality of Maggio Olive Oils. It’s amazing to cook with an oil that will perfectly flavor a savory dish! I’m such a fan.
And what better way to cook chicken in than a iron skillet? (There is not better way!)
If you don’t own a iron skillet, I consider looking into it! Such a necessity to have in my kitchen. This specific pan was passed down from my mom, and has been one I’ve been cooking with for years since learning how to cook.
Love love love cooking with cast iron!
This savory citrus, herbed chicken is a 15 minutes preparation and 30 minutes to bake situation!
& SO tasty
- 4 boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tbsp Maggio Tuscan Herb Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
- 1 tbsp dried rosemary, chopped
- 1 1/2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp salt & pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp orange zest
- 3 tbsp fresh orange juice
Preheat oven to 375F.
Add sage, rosemary, honey, pepper & salt, garlic, 1 tsp Maggio Olive Oil, orange zest and juice to a large bowl. Toss chicken thighs in mixture till chicken is covered evenly with ingredients.
Heat 2 Tbsp of olive oil on medium heat in skillet pan. Add chicken thighs and brown for 4 minutes on both sides.
When chicken has browned, cook in oven for 25-30 minutes or until chicken has cooked through. Cooking time may vary depending on the cut/size of your chicken. When done garnish with fresh herbs and serve with brown rice or quinoa!
