DIY Peppermint Bark
Wave your hands in the air if you love peppermint bark. ??
Seriously guys, why on earth is this stuff so good? And the best thing about making your own is it’s the easiest thing ever, delicious, AND the perfect holiday gift to give as well! Did I mention it takes less than 30 minutes? Yeah, that too.
Since the Christmas cookie season has come, I figured why not make a DIY peppermint bark for people to not only enjoy but even wrap up in a pretty box and gift to people?! So here we are, friends. It’s so easy, zero fuss, and so YUM.
And I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that homemade peppermint bark tastes better than what you buy in the stores.
Hope you all enjoy this recipe, and get ready for much to come from ASP this holiday season. ❤️
- 12 oz dark melting chocolate
- 10 oz white melting chocolate
- 1/2 tsp peppermint extract (divided)
- 2 candy canes
Divide your dark chocolate and white chocolate in 2 separate microwave safe bowls add 1/4 tsp of peppermint extract to each chocolate (you can melt chocolate in a double boiler if you have access to one as well).
One at a time, melt chocolate in microwave. Heat 30 seconds at a time, stirring each time in between to prevent burning chocolate. Line rectangle baking pan (with sides) with parchment paper. Add melted dark chocolate to pan, spread evenly. Dollop white chocolate in different spots on top of the chocolate and use the tip of a butter knife to blend chocolates together.
Sprinkle crushed candy cane pieces over top of chocolate and place in refrigerator until chocolate has hardened (about 15 minutes). Carefully cut with knife and store pieces in a sealed container in refrigerator.
