Turkey burgers are perfect for a healthier summer grilling recipe. Most burgers made with turkey can be dry and lacking in flavor – this recipe is super moist with tons of zesty flavor from turmeric, garlic, and a little bit of cayenne pepper.

I love a good burger – but I also like to top it with a little bit of fat from avocado and special sauce like barbecue or aioli.

What seasonings are best for turkey burgers?

Since turkey burgers can be prone to dryness you can add a splash of soy sauce or Worcestershire for moisture and flavor. You can use Mediterranean seasonings with feta cheese crumbles, or pesto, with onion & garlic powder.

Tips for Making Healthy Turkey Burgers

  • Instead of ground turkey you can also use ground chicken, beef, or bison.
  • You can use any sauce for this recipe – ketchup, mayonnaise, aioli, or BBQ sauce.
  • Toppings for the burgers are optional – you can add pickled onions, avocados, and any type of greens.
  • Freeze your turkey burgers (raw) in ziplock bags – then thaw and grill as required.
