Use ripe/sweet bananas: a lot of the flavor in this smoothie comes from the sweet banana. Make sure they are ripe and have flavor when using! A few brown dots on the banana skin will show it is perfectly ripe.Flax seeds vs flax meal: you can use either flax SEEDS or MEAL - which is flax seeds ground up into a "flour" consistency. I like using flax meal because it's already skipping a step for me, but flax seeds will break down in the blender if used in this smoothie.
