Ingredients You need
Flour tortillas – use your favorite store-bought tortillas or make your own! Corn tortillas will not work for this recipe.
Cheese – I recommend a pizza cheese blend or mozzarella and some parmesan cheese for a salty taste!
Pizza sauce – use your favorite store-bought or homemade pizza sauce.
Toppings – top your pizza with fresh basil, oregano, red pepper flakes, and parmesan cheese!
How to Make Tortilla Pizza – Step by Step
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Arrange tortillas on a baking sheet and spread with a thin layer of pizza sauce.
- Then sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Bake for 7-8 minutes until cheese is melted and crust is browned. Sprinkle with fresh basil and desired toppings before serving!
Homemade or Store-Bought Tortillas
I wouldn’t recommend corn tortillas due to the taste and texture – this recipe requires 100% flour tortillas. When I made this recipe I used a simple homemade tortilla recipe that I found here. Homemade tortillas are super soft, taste amazing, and are a game-changer. To make it simpler, you can also buy authentic high-quality flour tortillas at your local grocery store.
Add Pizza Toppings
If you want to level up your pizza, add some toppings such as pepperoni, Italian sausage (cooked), or roasted vegetables like bell peppers, red onion, broccoli, cauliflower, and mushrooms. You can also sauté some greens like asparagus, kale, and spinach.
If adding vegetables to these pizza’s I recommend using cooked over topping with raw to help get the best flavor and texture. We like either sautéing or roasting veggie toppings!
Extra Tips For This Recipe
